Difference between Psychology and Education :-


There is no doubt that the relationship between psychology and education is very deep and inseparable. Indeed one of the foundations of education is psychology. Based on this relationship of psychology with education, educational psychology has been considered a separate subject of knowledge. But it would be a mistake to think that there is no difference between education and psychology. In fact, there are several fundamental differences between education and psychology. For example –


1. Nature of subject :-
Psychology is a subjective science.
But education is a disciplined science.

2. Contents :-
The subject of psychology is the analysis, control and prediction of mental processes.
But the subject of education is behavior analysis, control and prediction.

3. Originality:-
Psychology is a basic science.
But education is not basic science.

4. Purity :-
Psychology is a pure science.
Education is a practical or applied science.

5. Social neutrality:-
Psychology is neutral to place, society, tradition and culture.
But education is subject to change depending on country, social tradition, culture etc.

6. In terms of behavior of the person:-
Psychology deals with the mental aspects of human behavior that are invisible. Human emotional reactions are extremely subtle and beyond perception.
But the subject of education is the external aspect of human behavior. It is perceptible.
