What is pre -primary education? Discuss the goals and objectives of pre -primary education.

What is the definition of pre-primary education? What are the objectives of pre-primary education? 




Pre -primary education: -

Previous level of formal education is pre -primary education. The kind of education that is usually provided before five or six years - is pre -primary education. Basically nursery and   kindergarten schools provided pre-primary education. Pre -primary education is conducted to make the child suitable as a pre -preparation for traditional education.
Previously pre -primary education did not include traditional education; Children's childhood education was provided within the family range. But subsequently, pre -primary education has been added as part of traditional education due to the spread of thinking, educational research, socio -social reasons, spread of universal education - etc. Currently, pre -primary education is conducted for 3-5 years before the start of traditional primary education.


The goal and purpose of pre-primary education: -

Multiple motives are present behind the education of the child in pre -primary education before traditional education. E.g.

1. Formation of healthy habits in children:- The process of adaptation in children in childhood is organized very quickly. Therefore, at this age, children are emphasized in the formation of healthy habits. Notable among these are toilet habits, cleaning habits, wear habits, food intake, to be familiar with school life - etc.

2. Socialization : - A child at the pre-primary education level matches themselves as part of the society outside the house and the safety and affection of the family. Therefore, it is essential to develop the sociality of children at this age. One of the goals of pre -primary education, is to develop a society -recognized manner, to make aware and sympathetic about the rights and privileges of others.

3. Extravagant Development: - Special care of children's apparent development at the pre -primary education level is taken. Pre- primary education is helpful to understand and control their emotions and feelings, express and control them. The children are guided in a well -controlled way through guidance and consultation in pre-primary education.

4. Creative Development:- In each child the feeling aesthetic is present. At the pre -primary education level, children are trying to develop and encourage that aesthetic feeling. Different types of hand work, sports, gardens - care, songs and poetry recitation, dance, etc. are helpful in the child's efficient development.

5. Awareness about the environment:- At present, environmental issues are very important. From the first level of education, the pre-primary education helps the child become aware of the environment. Pre -primary education gives the general lesson of the environment, the identity of the environment, the importance of the environment - a positive attitude among children is developed on these issues.

6. Mental Development: - In pre -primary education , special emphasis is placed on the mental development of children. Reading - participation in various activities , control on emotions , development of creativity - etc. are the ways to develop a strong mentality . Special attention is kept for this. various types of hand work, sports, songs and poetry recitation, listening stories - etc. are the best ways to develop it. 

7. Linguistic Development: - Pre -primary education level is known to the child's first language learning level. At this level, more emphasis is placed on the mother tongue. Linguistic skills are tried to enhance the language, to be familiar with words and to learn to form words, increase the word repository, correct pronunciation capacity of words - etc. The development of linguistic skills at the pre-primary level is very important because if linguistic development is not proper, there will be problems at the next level of education.

8. Development of interest and curiosity: - The students at pre -primary education level are curious about various issues. They express that curiosity through various questions. School teachers - resolve their curiosity by answering their questions properly. After the curiosity of one issue, the children became curious about the other.
