Difference between community and association:-
1. In terms of scope: -
The size and scope of community is relatively large. The existence of more than one association can be observed within a community. On the other hand, association is a part of community and its scope is much smaller than community.
2. In terms of membership: -
Every person is a member of a community by birth. In this case, the will or unwillingness of the person does not play any role. But the membership of the association is completely dependent on the will or unwillingness of the person. A person can freely, according to his own will, accept membership of the association or not.
3. Specific geographical range: -
A community has a specific geographical range. A specific geographical area is considered one of the conditions of a community. But an association does not have a specific geographical area. For example, the location of the Red Cross Society can be seen all over the world.
4. Structurally:
From a structural perspective, a community is a natural institution. On the other hand, an association is born artificially.
5. Objectively:
A community is not formed with any objective in mind. Its objectives are multiple and extensive. A community is the set of objectives necessary for human life. People fulfill the objectives necessary for their life from within the community. On the other hand, an association is formed on the basis of specific objectives. People artificially establish associations on the basis of specific objectives.
6. Legal basis:
A community does not have a specific legal basis. But an association has a legal basis.
7. In terms of durability:
In terms of durability, a community is much more durable than an association. Since associations are artificially formed to fulfill specific purposes of people, the association ceases to exist as soon as these needs are met. For example, many voluntary organizations were formed during the Covid pandemic; but now, with the decrease in the incidence of Corona, the need for all those organizations has disappeared.
8. In terms of rules and regulations:-
The community does not have any specific written rules and regulations. The community is governed by natural rules, customs, traditions, folklore - etc. But each association has specific written rules and regulations. The association controls the behavior of its members through these rules and regulations.
9. In terms of self-sufficiency:-
The community is much more self-sufficient than the association. The community is fairly self-sufficient in meeting the needs of its members. But the association is by no means self-sufficient. For the fulfillment of the objectives, each association is dependent on each other and in turn dependent on the community.
10. Membership and economic issues: -
The membership of the community is much more than that of the association. In the case of the association, membership, renewal of membership, various fees or subscriptions, etc. are involved. However, in the case of the community, these issues do not exist. The membership of the community is natural and hereditary.
