The functions of the family can be divided into two parts; namely - essential functions and non-essential functions.

Essential functions of the family :-

This social rule is prevalent in almost every society in the field of satisfying the sexual needs of every man - woman. This social rule gives legitimacy to the relationship between man and woman and helps to guide the society in an orderly way by eliminating adultery, disorder of sexual relations, etc. in the society.

2. Procreation and upbringing of children: - One of the most important functions of the family is - procreation and upbringing of children. The family gives legitimacy to every child born. Along with this, it establishes the legal rights of the mother and father. Along with this, raising children is one of the duties of the family. By raising each child from birth to independence, the family makes him suitable for future social life.


3. Socialization: - One of the most important functions of the family is the organization of socialization. The main area of ​​socialization of a human child is the family.
